DIRECTV NOW not connecting or pairing with Google Chromecast

Connectivity problems may prevent the DIRECTV NOW app from pairing with your Chromecast device, for example, a Chromecast built-in TV. To resolve this issue, try the following:

  1. Confirm that your AndroidTM or iOSTM device is compatible with both the Chromecast and DIRECTV NOW apps via our supported devices and browsers.
  2. Make sure your mobile device and Chromecast device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Close and re-launch both the DIRECTV NOW and Chromecast applications.
  4. Check for updates to your DIRECTV NOW and Chromecast apps from your App Store.
  5. Unplug your Chromecast device for one minute.
  6. Restart your Chromecast device.
  7. Check for device updates for your Android device.
  8. Restart your Android or iOS device.
  9. Uninstall and reinstall the DIRECTV NOW and Chromecast apps on your mobile device.
