DIRECTV NOW crashes on Amazon Fire TV Stick

If the DIRECTV NOW application crashes, closes, or logs out when using an Amazon Fire TV Stick, try these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Restart your Amazon Fire TV Stick.
  2. Check for Amazon Fire TV updates.
  3. Close and restart the DIRECTV NOW app.
  4. Check for DIRECTV NOW app updates.

Note: Repeated DIRECTV NOW viewing interruptions on Amazon Fire Stick are a known issue which we are working to resolve as soon as possible.

If the above tips do not resolve the issue, try the following: 

  1. Select the Settings section.
  2. Select the Apps menu.
  3. Select the Manage Installed Apps option.
  4. Select the DIRECTV NOW app.
  5. Select Clear Cache.
  6. Select Clear Data.
  1. Select the Apps section.
  2. Select Your Apps Library.
  3. Select the DIRECTV NOW app.
  4. Press down and then select Uninstall.
  5. Scroll to Search and type DIRECTV NOW.
  6. Select DIRECTV NOW.
  7. Select the DIRECT NOW app.
  8. Select the Get button. The DIRECTV NOW app downloads and installs on your device.
  1. Select Settings from the menu, 
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Network menu.
  4. Find your current network by the check mark and signal strength reading alongside it.
  5. To switch to a different network, select Rescan.
  6. Select the network to which you wish to connect.
  7. If prompted, enter the password.
  8. Once complete, select Connect.
